Home Homilies Homily 220 – 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time

How Important is the Eucharist

We’ve spent the last several weeks learning about the Eucharist as we read St. John’s gospel. However, there comes a time when you have to make a decision to act. It’s not enough just to think about the Eucharist or understand it. Ultimately, our lives must answer the key question, “How important is the Eucharist?” Today’s homily looks at how three different priests answered this question.

Hi Fr. Shawn,
I’m a ” cradle Catholic.” Back in the 70’s I was a member of Christ the King parish in KC, MO. At that time, it was Msgr. Karney who instilled the importance of the Eucharist in me. I was so very grateful. I had not heard such an inspiring homily about The Eucharist since those days long ago.. until this last Sunday when you spoke to us about The Eucharist. Thank you! God bless you!
