Homily 213.5 – St. John the Boy Scout – Solemnity of John the Baptist

by Shawn P. Tunink

John the BaptistThis homily was given to scouts gathered for Mass at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation in the Chapel of the Twelve Apostles

St. John the Baptist did some strange things, like leave a perfectly good city and live in the wilderness. He ate locusts and wild honey. He wore strange clothes. Weird. Except, we Boy Scouts are not really all that different. In fact, you might think of John the Baptist as being one of us.
